Robert Simpson Born 1955 in Finley, NSW, Australia
Robert is a painter of immense natural talent. He has been a full-time artist for Thirty years and in that time his work has explored many different aspects of  landscape.
Early in his career he concentrated on painting landscape in a representational manner. These works were very popular with many ‘sold out’ exhibitions within Australia and Scotland.
At present his work still focuses on the Australian landscape but with an emphasis on mans’ impact on the fragile environment. Furthermore, his paintings give an insight into his remarkable technique where paint is laid down in a very sensual way inviting interpretation on a number of layers. Aesthetically the work is beautiful and arresting.
By exploring themes like perceptions, boundaries and the dynamic interaction between man and land, the artist invites and challenges the viewer to consider the work on a deeper level.
Robert has won numerous awards including the Drummoyne Art prize and The Rothmans Art Award for contemporary art. He has had twenty-nine solo exhibitions and thirty group exhibitions.
He is represented in public and private collections; including Sydney International Airport, Government of New South Wales, Sir James Ronald and The Admiral of the Navy.
His work is sold exclusively on the Central Coast in the Neale Joseph Fine Art Gallery.
